The building

Six things a datacentre is either good at or not

None of these are unusual. What is unusual is a host putting numbers next to them instead of a photograph of a corridor.

The site is carrier-neutral and sells space and power only. We publish what we rate rather than what the building brochure claims — if a figure here is ever wrong, tell us from the panel and we will correct it.

Owned, not rented

Anybody can put a flag on a map. Very few can show you the invoice.

Most “offshore” hosting is a reseller panel in front of somebody else’s machine. It works right up to the moment the real owner receives a notice — and then the promise you paid for was never theirs to make.

We buy the hardware.

Servers, switches, PDUs, transceivers. Not a reseller panel on somebody else’s machine, and not capacity rented from a provider who could reclaim it.

We publish the ratios.

At most four vCPU per physical core on the shared lines, disks under 70% provisioned. Numbers you can hold us to, rather than a word like “generous”.

The site is carrier-neutral.

The building sells space and power, not transit. Our routing is ours to choose, which is what makes a second and a third carrier possible at all.

Routing and transit
Can I visit, or send someone?

For a dedicated server, yes — escorted, on a scheduled slot, with the site’s own identity requirements applying at the door. We cannot escort you to a rack holding other customers’ machines, which is most of them.

Will you name the datacentre operator?

To a dedicated-server customer under NDA, yes. Not publicly: naming the building invites pressure on a third party who did not sign up for our positioning, and that is how a good site stops renting to hosts like us.

What happens if the building loses power entirely?

Dual feed, then UPS, then diesel. The generators are load-tested monthly, which is the part most sites skip. If all of it failed at once you would see it on the status page before support could type, because that page is not hosted here.

Is there a second site?

Not today, and we will not pretend otherwise. A second building in the same country is on the plan; a second country is not, for the reasons on why one country. Until then, keep a backup somewhere else — we would rather say it than sell you a false sense of redundancy.
